| I am in a fantasy playoff contest selecting players. My question is after the first round of playoffs are the playoff teams reseeded. In other words if Dallas (7) upsets NO (2) would they face the Lakers assuming they beat Denver or would they face the winner of the Spurs/Suns matchup
Thanks
George

| The teams are not reseeded. The winner of the 2/7 matchup plays the winner of the 3/6 matchup. So if Dallas upsets New Orleans, they will play the winner of the Spurs/Suns matchup.
NBA.com has the playoff brackets laid out on their home page.

| I am entered into a 2008 NBA playoff fantasy league...there will be five teams each with eight players that will all play every night. Scoring is points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks are 2 and t.o. are -2, double-double is 10 and triple-double is 25. We must have 1 center, 2 guards and 2 forwards..........(total of 8 players)
1. Need help with sorting my potential list by how far each team will make it in the playoffs....need my players to play as many games as possible....
2. Do you guys have a playoff bracket filled in? |
| We don't have a playoff bracket but below are my Final 4:
East: Boston vs. Detroit
West: Lakers vs. Spurs
Player ranks:
1. Kobe
2. KG
3. Duncan
4. Gasol
5. Odom
6. Pierce
7. Billups
8. Sheed
9. Ginobili
10. Allen
Players from non-Final teams worth drafting:
1. Dirk
2. D. Howard (double-doubles)
3. Jamison (double-doubles)
4. Boozer
5. Deron Williams
That's just a short list. I'm assuming that Dallas, Washington and Utah will advance to round two.
Good luck,
Eric

| Give me your up-sets for the East and the West in the first round! Also, do you think there will be a 6, 7 or 8th seeded team that will make it to a conference final?

| The East is set. I like Boston over Atlanta, Detroit over Philly, Orlando over Toronto and Washington over Cleveland. Seeding in the West depends on what happens tonight. I think Dallas (#7 seed right now) has a legitimate chance to beat New Orleans b/c of their experience and the lack of experience on the Hornets. Dallas could get back to the conference finals but I think their lack of inside depth and defensive liabilities will hurt them.
The playoffs should be very entertaining - especially in the West.

| Championship on the line. Pick 2 of these 5 players for this week: A Biedrins, A Thornton, R Davis, Marvin Williams, R Sessions. Biedrins will probably be one (although I'm afriad of eth Pheonix game - if they go small he may get less mins). The other I'm unsure, leaning towards Davis or Thornton. What do you think? It all comes down to this....please reply b4 5pm eastern on Monday!!! Thanks |
| Sorry for the late response. I would go with Biedrins and Sessions. You're right, the Warriors could go small, but they are fighting for their playoff lives and Biedrins should play a lot. I would normally pick Thornton but both Maggette and Thomas are back. Thornton will play, but I like Sessions a little more. He's averaging 9.4 points and 10.8 assists over his last five games. Mo Williams looks to be done for the year. If you decide to not play Biedrins, Davis would be next option.
Good luck,

| 1. Do you see any of these guys "sitting" to rest this weel before the playoffs start: Bosh, A Jefferson, J Smith, M Dunleavy, C Paul, A Igudala, A Bedrins, R Davis?? 2. Also, do you have any suggestions for a flex play this week? Someone who has come out of no where the last 2 weeks? These 2 questions are where you (rotowire) earn your money IMO. I need an answer by 5pm Monday. THANKS !! |
| I could see Bosh, Smith and Iguodala not playing (or playing sparingly) their last game if their playoff positions are locked in. Paul and the Hornets are still fighting for the #1 seed so he's a must play. Biedrins and the Warriors are fighting for the #8 seed so he's a must play as well. Both Jefferson and Davis should play despite their teams not being in the playoffs.
For flex plays, it really depends on what you need. I like Ramon Sessions from Milwaukee a lot. He's averaging 9.4 points and 10.8 assists over his last five games. Mike Conley Jr. and Spencer Hawes are both playing well and should see plenty of minutes.
Good luck,

| Last game in close championship need 1 of either:L.Head vs Denver, Brooks vs Denver, Carter vs Houston or Ridnour vs Dallas. Opinion would be great. |
| I'd go with Head vs. Denver. It should be a high scoring game and Battier is questionable for the game. Head should play a lot regardless and should outperform Carter, Brooks or Ridnour. I don't like Carter as much b/c George Karl has been playing Iverson at point and playing J.R. Smith a lot. Watson has been playing 30+ minutes recently making Ridnour obsolete. Brooks just doesn't get consistent minutes.
Good luck,

| Question i'm in my championship game and Rasho Nesterovic isn't living up should i drop him for Spencer Hawes or Wilson Chandler? i need rebounds!!! |
| I would go with the guy who's going to play the most minutes. The Raptors could start resting some of their starters next week and who knows how Isiah Thomas' rotation is going to play out from game to game. I would go wth Hawes or Channing Frye (if he's available). Both Miller and Pryzbilla are done for the year. Both of those guys (Hawes and Frye) should get 30+ minutes a night over their teams last couple games and be a good source for rebounds.
Good luck,
Eric |
