Purvis notched a career-high 19 points (7-10 FG, 2-3 FT) Saturday in a win over Boston College.

In arguably the freshman's best performance as a member of the Wolfpack, Purvis was on the floor for 35 minutes and shot 3-for-5 from long distance. Purvis is averaging 9.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this season.

Purvis was cleared to play with the Wolf Pack in 2012-13, the Fayetteville Observer reports.

Purvis' high school academics had been called into question and investigated by the NCAA. The freshman was not allowed to go with North Carolina State on their exhibition tour of Spain. He should add plenty of backcourt fire power to the Wolf Pack this season.

Purvis' has yet to be cleared, and won't travel to Spain with the rest of the team, the News & Observer reports.

Reading between the lines here, it sounds like Purvis was enrolled at a "diploma mill" type private school. It's a setback for sure, as he won't be able to capitalize on Lorenzo Brown's injury during the preseason, but I wouldn't let this dampen your opinion on Purvis' 2012-2013 season.
