Taylor (ankle) played for just the second time this season and scored six points (3-7 FG, 0-2 FT) in 21 minutes in the loss to Cincinnati on Tuesday.

It will take Taylor some time to adjust to playing again after missing 16 games. The Knights could use some offense after not scoring more than 65 points in conference play. Taylor could rejoin the starting lineup next Thursday against Wichita State.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Taylor (ankle) will play in Tuesday's game against Cincinnati, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Taylor, who has not played since the team's season-opener against Mercer, will finally make his return to the floor after two months on the sidelines due to a foot fracture. Given his elongated absence from the court, the junior guard will likely come off the bench and see limited minutes initially for the Knights. Once he gets his conditioning up to speed, Taylor should retake his role as the team's starting point guard after averaging 17.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals last season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Taylor (ankle) is considered a game-time decision for Monday's matchup with Cincinnati, Shannon Green of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

A report surfaced just a week earlier suggesting that Taylor would likely remain sidelined through the end of the month, but the junior point guard is apparently progressing from the ankle issue quicker than expected. Even if Taylor is held out again Tuesday, his seemingly imminent return would be a major boon to the fourth-place Knights' hopes of sticking in the thick of the American Athletic Conference title race. Taylor hasn't played since generating 12 points and four assists across 26 minutes in the Knights' season-opening win over Mercer on Nov. 10.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Taylor (ankle) is expected to miss the next three weeks, the Jackson Observer reports.

UCF hasn't missed a beat in 2018, as A.J. Davis has stepped up to lead the Knights to a 12-4 record during Taylor's absence. Taylor led UCF in scoring last season (17.4 PPG), so he should bolster an already-potent offense when he returns to the lineup. Ankle injuries can linger, however, so Taylor could be less effective immediately upon return, opening up more opportunities for Davis and freshman point guard Ceasar Dejesus to shine.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Taylor (foot) has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game against Temple, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Taylor hasn't been able to take the court since the season opener, as he continues to work back a foot injury. He'll remain sidelined once again Sunday, which will give him another three days off for rest prior to Wednesday's tilt with Connecticut. Tentatively consider him questionable for that contest and he'll likely need to put in a full practice at some point early this week to be cleared.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Taylor (foot) is not expected to play Sunday against Temple, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Taylor will continue to be listed as day-to-day, but is expected to sit out in Sunday's game. His next chance to return will come Wednesday against Connecticut -- he'll provide UCF's offense with a nice boost when he finally makes a return to the court.

January 2, 2018

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Taylor (foot) will be out Wednesday against Memphis, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Taylor has only played in one game thus far, and is still being hampered by a foot injury. He won't play Wednesday, but is day-to-day and could return Sunday against Temple. The senior guard will play a huge role in UCF's offense when he can return to the court.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Taylor (foot), if he "continues to progress", according to coach Johnny Dawkins, is probable for Jan. 3's contest against Memphis, John Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

With the news, it appears Taylor can be ruled out for not only Wednesday's game against SMU, but also Sunday's game against East Carolina. Taylor was the team's leading scorer last season, posting 17.4 points per game. Once he returns, Terrell Allen will likely see his role reduced.
